TarihçeHistory

Meryem Ana Kilisesi, Ankara’da yaşayan uluslararası Katolik topluluğunun ibadet yeridir. Vatikan’ın Türkiye Büyükelçiliği’nin (Apostolik Nunsiyatür) bahçesinde bulunur ve dünyanın dört bir yanından gelen, farklı kültür ve sosyal çevrelerden insanları bir araya getirir.

Cemaatte diplomatlar, misyon görevlileri ve özellikle Afrika ülkelerinden gelen çok sayıda üniversite öğrencisi vardır. Ayinler Fransızca, İngilizce ve İspanyolca yapılır; ilmihal, çocuklar için ilk komünyon ve güçlendirme hazırlığı, koro ve gençlik grubu gibi etkinlikler cemaat konseyi tarafından yürütülür. Kilise, Ulus’taki Azize Tereza ile birlikte Ankara Katolik Kilisesi’nin iki ibadet yerinden biridir.

The Church of Our Lady is the place of worship of the international Catholic community living in Ankara. It stands in the garden of the Holy See’s embassy to Turkey (the Apostolic Nunciature) and brings together people from all over the world, from different cultures and walks of life.

The congregation includes diplomats, mission staff and many university students, especially from African countries. Mass is said in French, English and Spanish; catechism, preparation for children’s First Communion and Confirmation, the choir and the youth group are run by the parish council. With St. Thérèse in Ulus, the church is one of the two places of worship of the Catholic Church in Ankara.
