TarihçeHistory
St. Nikolaus Kilisesi, Antalya’daki Almanca konuşan Katolik cemaatin kilisesidir. Türk Rivierası’nda yaklaşık 10.000 Alman sürekli yaşar; her yıl gelen milyonlarca turistin önemli bir kısmı da Aziz Pavlus’un izinden gitmek ve erken Hristiyanlığın mirasını görmek ister. Cemaat bu insanlar için kuruldu.
Cemaat 2004’te Türk dernekler hukukuna göre “Aziz Nikolaus Kilisesi Derneği” olarak kuruldu ve resmen tanındı. Hildesheim piskoposluğundan Prelat Rainer Korten, çalışma izni alan ilk rahip oldu ve 2013’e kadar derneğin kurucu başkanı olarak görev yaptı. Dernek tüzüğü herkesin kiliseye kontrolsüz girebilmesini, dinî yayınları, hastanelerde ve cezaevlerinde Almanca konuşanları ziyareti güvence altına alır.
Alman Piskoposlar Konferansı’nın mali desteğiyle kiralanan eski bir internet kafe kiliseye dönüştürüldü. Aynı binada iki cemaat salonu ve Almanca kitaplardan oluşan geniş bir kütüphane (Nikolas Bücherei) bulunur; duvarlarla çevrili güzel bahçe ayinlerden sonra buluşma yeridir. Kilise, Atatürk Caddesi’ne paralel sokakta, Hadriyanüs Kapısı’na beş dakikalık yürüme mesafesindedir. Bugünkü rahip Peder Ludger Paskert’tir.
The Church of St. Nicholas is the church of the German-speaking Catholic community in Antalya. About 10,000 Germans live permanently on the Turkish Riviera, and many of the millions of tourists who come each year want to follow in the footsteps of St. Paul and see the heritage of early Christianity. The community was founded for these people.
The community was founded and officially recognized in 2004 under Turkish association law as the “St. Nicholas Church Association”. Prelate Rainer Korten of the Diocese of Hildesheim was the first priest to receive a work permit and served as the association’s founding president until 2013. The association’s statutes guarantee that anyone may enter the church freely, as well as religious publications and visits to German speakers in hospitals and prisons.
With financial support from the German Bishops’ Conference, a former internet café was rented and turned into a church. The same building houses two parish halls and a large library of German books (Nikolas Bücherei); the lovely walled garden is the meeting place after Mass. The church is on the street parallel to Atatürk Avenue, a five-minute walk from Hadrian’s Gate. The present priest is Father Ludger Paskert.
